Apple is the company that offers the most variety of sizes in its high-end family. Starting with the smallest model, we have the iPhone 13 mini, a terminal with a height of just 13 centimeters. It is the most powerful small high-end mobile on the market, without competition from the big manufacturers, weighing only 135 grams, almost 100 grams less than any current high-end. If you are looking for a small phone that can be used with one hand, we have already informed you that this is the best option.
The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are the middle ground: they are still smaller than the current high-end, but not as small as the mini. Here we have two terminals 14.6 centimeters high, very comfortable in hand and with a balanced size. The difference between materials is notable, since the iPhone 13 and 13 mini are made of aluminum and shiny glass, while the Pro have stainless steel edges and matte glass, which repels fingerprints and slips less.
The weight increase is noticeable and much in the iPhone 13 Pro compared to the iPhone 13: 204 grams against 173 grams respectively. The iPhone 13 feels quite light, while the iPhone 13 Pro is starting to get pretty close to the weight of the Max model.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max is for those who want a giant mobile. It is a mobile that cannot be used with one hand, which weighs almost 240 grams and to which you must try to get used to. On an ergonomic level, the Pro Max is not the best option, although it has its advantages. In conclusion, we are convinced that the finish is a point to value in the Pro models, especially if we want to use the mobile without a case. The stainless steel finish is a high-end differential compared to traditional aluminum, although the weight is something to value for each one.
This new generation iPhone 13 presents a great improvement in battery in all models. The difference will depend on the model we choose: the larger the iPhone, the more battery it has. The iPhone 13 mini now has a range similar to that of the iPhone 12. The battery of the iPhone 13 mini keeps flying if we ask a lot of it. It lasts longer than the previous generation although it will hardly reach the end of the day under heavy use. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro, despite the difference in milliamp hours, have almost identical autonomy. The iPhone 13 Pro has a smaller battery, but the ProMotion panel saves more power than the 13's panel, which manages to match the results. The battery of both phones is outstanding, being able to exceed the day of use with about seven hours of screen time.
Regarding the Pro Max, its autonomy is spectacular. More than 10 hours of screen time spread over two full days of use, making it practically impossible to exhaust it.
As for the respective cameras, it must be said that although the sensors are different, the final result is practically the same. Although the iPhone 12 Pro Max had a better sensor than its smaller brothers, but it did not take better photographs, in this case, the iPhone 13 and 13 mini have that sensor from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, while the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have an even bigger sensor. Are there big differences? No, at least in photography with the main camera. In both good light and at night, there are no noticeable differences between the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. Perhaps the Pro models have slightly more detail in very certain scenarios, but it's a minor difference. They all take great pictures.
The main difference is with an ultra wide angle with a new sensor and lens and the zoom, the secondary lenses of the iPhone. In the ultra wide angle there are differences in detail, although mainly in night photography. The latter is noticeable both in low light conditions and in situations where we require extra dynamic range.
As for the zoom, the Pro models mount a three-magnification telephoto lens that is convincing, as long as it is activated. This is one of the differential points of the Pro camera: a sharp zoom and a more successful portrait mode thanks to this 3X. The ultra wide angle is much brighter, f / 1.8 vs f / 2.4 and with a new sensor. At night we do notice a little more sharpness, although not as expected given the differences in hardware. Finally, note that the macro mode is restricted to the iPhone 13 Pro, so the focus distance is much closer.
